The liquid which can be filtered is led on the filter fleece bed. The solid (dirt-) particle on the filter fleece are held back. The cleaned liquid flows into the basin and can be derived from there back for re-use or for disposal. The sludge particle, remaining on the fleece, form a filter cake. If the density of the filter cake prevents an optimal passing of the liquid, then the filter cake as well as the fleece is transported automatically into a waste basin. The whole process occurs continuously and fully automatic, without the flow is interrupted.

The inclined bed filter system, developed by POSITECH AG permits - compared with conventional bed band filters - a substantially higher run capacity with fewer space requirement, and smaller fleece consumption. The fleece is used evenly optimally on the entire width. Additionally to that, the sludge is deliveried very dry, as a result of the long drying area after the filter lake.
